Why MACU is needed
Many seniors face social isolation, digital exclusion and limited participation in civic and democratic life. Their knowledge, memories and perspectives are still too often missing from public discussion.
The MACU ProjectCulture / memory / dialogue / democracy
MACU connects seniors from Poland, Slovakia and Romania through cultural heritage, personal stories and shared European values.
About MACU
Making Culture a Powerful Tool of Involving Seniors into Democratic Life responds to isolation and low civic participation by creating spaces where seniors learn, speak and shape community life together.
MACU is an international Erasmus+ KA210-ADU partnership connecting organisations in Poland, Slovakia and Romania — three countries with related historical experiences and shared social challenges.
Many seniors face social isolation, digital exclusion and limited participation in civic and democratic life. Their knowledge, memories and perspectives are still too often missing from public discussion.
Cultural heritage, art, historical memory and personal stories become starting points for dialogue. Seniors participate as active creators through learning journeys, discussions, poetry, storytelling and intergenerational cooperation.
MACU strengthens democratic awareness, critical thinking and shared European values while developing inclusive adult-learning methods. A joint performance, digital platform and e-book will help the results live beyond the project.
